NARBO secretariat members visited India

The 5th General Meeting was held in Chiang Mai, Thailand

NARBO organized the 5th General Meeting, and its Study Visit and Technical Workshops in line with the 2nd Asia Pacific Water Summit (2nd APWS) in Chiang Mai from 15 to 18 in May 2013. Thematic Workshop on Water security in the River Basins was conducted on NARBO 5th General
Meeting, technical workshop. Security of natural fresh water is groundwork for sustainable development. Water security is increasing concern for Asia Pacific countries because of gaps between water demand

The NARBO Thematic Workshop on Capacity Building for IWRM Implementation was held on May 17, 2013 during the third day of the 2nd Asia Pacific Water Summit at Chiang Mai, Thailand. The 8th NARBO IWRM Training will be held from 2nd half of November 2013 in Sri-Lanka. NARBO Secretariat is now actively preparing for the Training. The details of the training will be announced soon.

 

NARBO Short Report was launched at NARBO website

The “NARBO Short Report” aims to share NARBO member’s surveys and researches with NARBO member. Main topic of the report is IWRM related issues. The report covers all study reports from a personal survey to a complicated analysis conducted by organizations, which is accepted by NARBO secretariat.
This report doesn’t handle a paper without any consideration or analysis. Such kind of information
shall be put on the NARBO homepage (http://www.narbo.jp).

NARBO to Offer Online Diploma Courses on River Basin Management and Environmental Management

Block your calendar for the next round of distance learning courses to be offered by NARBO this year! NARBO will offer four online diploma courses on river basin management and environment management in collaboration with CEDDET Foundation (Spain), Ebro River Water Authority (Spain), Japan Water Agency, and other knowledge partners in the region. NARBO’s Performance Benchmarking and Peer Review Service for RBOs

NARBO, in partnership with the Center for River Basin Organization and Management(CRBOM), invited member river basin organizations to join the NARBO performance benchmarking and peer review program for 2013-14. The benchmarking program recognizes that RBOs play a critical facilitating role in promotion of IWRM in river basins. As for any organization, continuous improvement of management systems and service levels is essential to remain at the forefront of management in the basin. (>>See more)

According to NARBO Charter, RBO member are obliged to make an annual report and send it to Secretary General once a year within 3 months after their yearly fiscal year. NARBO secretariat will send the format of annual report soon. Please fill in the format and send it back to NARBO secretariat.

NARBO Newsletter aims to be a tool for sharing good practices, lessons learned from practice and IWRM-related activities, etc. Therefore, we highly welcome articles from you, about good practices, lessons from practice, activities relevant to IWRM. In addition, the article such as topic providing, and fresh voice, etc is also very welcomed. The articles you will contribute to NARBO Secretariat will be put in newsletters to share experience and lessons and so on.
